Despite tickets already having been sold for forthcoming concerts in Christchurch's cardboard cathedral, the Bishop of Christchurch says the new church has not yet received consents to operate.
The $7 million structure is a temporary one, after the Anglican cathedral was severely damaged by the earthquake in 2011.
The concerts are part of an opening festival, beginning on 6 August, but Bishop Victoria Matthews says no date is yet fixed yet for the cathedral's first service. However, she expects it will be in August.
Last week, rain damaged several of the cardboard tubes that make up the outer skin of the church.
