Vietnam has been a global success story in limiting the spread of the coronavirus. Despite sharing a long border with China, it recorded just 327 cases, and no deaths. Its government took drastic action to get its emergency plan into action, and began a hugely effective contact tracing operation. Professor Guy Thwaites is the director of Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Ho Chi Minh City. He told Worldwatch reporter Annabel Reid the speed of the response was crucial.
