The search for a 10-year-old boy who went missing after a boat capsized in Auckland's Manukau Harbour earlier this month has been called off.
Police said Search and Rescue, volunteers, Coastguard and the Eagle Helicopter had been looking for Ryder Ferregel for more than two weeks.
"Despite these efforts we have not been able to locate Ryder," police said in a statement.
"The past fortnight has been incredibly difficult for the friends and family of all of those involved in this incident.
"They have lost a mother and a son in this incident, and our sympathies remain with them at this time."

Ryder's mother, Gemma Ferregel, drowned and three others survived after the boat they were on overturned near Clarks Beach.
Police said it wanted to "acknowledge the wider community for their support as well as offers of assistance in this matter".
Coastguard's Northern region manager Jonny Bannister said many volunteers joined the search.
He said it was a tragedy for the family and he wanted to pass on his condolences.
He wanted to remind people safety was paramount for anyone on a boat and that included always wearing a lifejacket and checking the weather conditions before going out.
Several investigations, including one of behalf of the Coroner and one led by Maritime New Zealand, were underway into the incident.
