The Samoa attorney general, Lemalu Hermann Retzlaff, has reinforced his office's support for the fight against domestic violence.
He told the Commission of Inquiry that domestic violence is unacceptable and that perpetrators will be held accountable for their actions.
The Samoa Observer reports him telling the commission that while there are "strong legislation and protective laws" in place, the question is whether they are being implemented.
He spoke of the No Drop Policy which was introduced in 2013 but he said the implementation of such protective laws depends on social attitudes.
