An office and storage building near Kaiapoi, north of Christchurch, has been extensively damaged by fire.
Fire crews using two water tankers and four fire engines took more than a hour to put out the blaze at the North Rd building on Friday evening.
The Fire Service says no-one was in the building at the time.
