Three men have been winched to safety by a rescue helicopter after their yacht ran onto rocks in bad weather in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf.
Their boat came off its moorings and hit rocks on South Island near Rakino at about 9pm on Sunday.
An Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew rescued the men in challenging conditions and flew them to hospital.
One of the men was seriously injured, while the other two had minor injuries.
