All Blacks interested in playing in Olympics

The boss of New Zealand Rugby says "three or four" All Blacks have put their hands up to be involved in the national sevens squad for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

With the inclusion of rugby sevens into the Games, Steve Tew says being available to play sevens for New Zealand has become a key contract clause for a group of players.

Tew says players have mentioned the possibility during contract negotiations.

Tew says it's the national men's sevens coach Sir Gordon Tietjens' belief that any All Blacks who switch to the sevens for Rio need to play the game for at least a few months.

He says those selected would probably not play Super Rugby in 2016.
