Johansson, 29, has made nearly 35 films.

Since her first with Robert Redford, she has worked with the Coen brothers, Brian de Palma and Christopher Nolan and become a muse of Woody Allen, with whom she has made three films, Match Point, Scoop and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

She will receive her "Cesar" at a gala awards ceremony in Paris on 28 February.
