Wellington's struggling music scene is getting a boost this weekend with its first festival since the lockdown ended.
Classical on Cuba was conceived in response to the cancellation of the city's Cuba Dupa festival as the country moved into alert level 4.
Players from Orchestra Wellington have split into ensembles for 100 performances at 15 Cuba Street venues.
It's hoped the event will generate some much-needed revenue for the venues, and encourage Wellingtonians to support their local music scene.
The orchestra's manager, Kirsten Mason, said the musicians are looking forward to playing to an audience again.
