Regenerate Christchurch appoints new board chair

A new leader of Christchurch's earthquake rebuild agency has been appointed.

Dr Therese Arseneau will become the board chair of Regenerate Christchurch, Christchurch City Council has announced.

Acting mayor Andrew Turner said Ms Arseneau woiuld lead Regenerate Christchurch as the rebuild agency transitions to council control.

Ms Arseneau currently chairs the board of the city's economic development agency ChristchurchNZ

Ms Arseneau will replace Sue Sheldon, whose term expired on 30 June.

Established in 2016, Regenerate Christchurch's work has included releasing plans to revitalise Cathedral Square and for a pathway along the Avon River from the central city to the sea.
