17:49 pm on 18 October 2013

The final results for the recent local elections show a narrow victory in Christchurch's Banks Peninsula ward.

Lyttelton businessman Andrew Turner has taken the seat by five votes from the Ngai Tahu board member, Nuk Korako.

The result is unchanged from that announced on election, even after special votes were counted.

The new mayor and councillors will be sworn in at the council's first meeting of the new term on 24 October.
