The New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori says any players found guilty of match-fixing must be banned for life if cricket is to clean up its image and be taken seriously as a sport.
Several Pakistan players are under police investigation for their role in betting scandals in the UK, including captain Salman Butt who was found with large sums of cash in a British Hotel.
Vettori says if international cricket wants to hold on its fans and grow the game, the sport must be cleaned up.
