A network of 13 cycleways across Christchurch is likely to be delayed by two years as the city council tries to keep down rates increases.
Under the Christchurch City Council's Long Term Plan, the 13 new cycleways were to be completed by 2020, but that is likely to be pushed back to 2022.
The council says the seven-year roll-out reflects a more realistic timeframe for the programme.
The cycleways were originally expected to cost $68 million, but in January last year the council revised the cost up to $156 million.
The council's plan is now out for public feedback.
