The Black Caps now have just ten fit players at the World Cup as the injury list continues to grow.

Another two players picked up injuries in this morning's 190-run loss to South Africa in Pune.

Pace bowler Matt Henry picked up a hamstring injury and allrounder Jimmy Neesham a wrist injury.

Henry will have an MRI scan in the next 24 hours. He came off the field after experiencing tightness during his sixth over of the South African innings and didn't return.

However he did bat at number eleven and faced nine balls without scoring.

Neesham was struck by the ball while bowling and sought treatment. An X-ray cleared him of any broken bones.

Lockie Ferguson missed the game after picking up an achilles niggle in the previous game against Australia. A scan revealed no significant damage and the team hopes he'll be available for Saturday's game against Pakistan in Bangaluru.

Captain Kane Williamson and allrounder Mark Chapman also both missed the game against the Proteas.

A team statement says Williamson's thumb and Chapman's calf will both be assessed again in Bengaluru.

After being put into bat South Africa scored 357 for four with Quinton de Kock smashing his fourth century of the tournament while Rassie van der Dussen also hit a ton.

In reply New Zealand was bowled out for 167 in the 36th over.

South Africa now top the table while New Zealand's third straight loss mean they slip to fourth.

New Zealand have two round robin games left against Pakistan and Sri Lanka and may need to win both of those to confirm their place in the semi-finals.
