Solomon Islands and China expected to formally sign security pact this week

The Solomon Islands government is expecting official confirmation the Chinese foreign minister Wang Li will visit the Pacific Island this week, to formally sign a controversial security pact.

It comes as the leaders of QUAD countries - the USA, Japan, Australia and India - prepare to meet.

Geoffrey Miller, an international analyst with the Democracy Project, spoke to Māni Dunlop.
