A soldier has been injured in a live-fire training exercise, at the same facility where an SAS soldier died earlier this month.
The Defence Force said the soldier received a gunshot wound during the training activity at the Battle Training Facility in Ardmore, in south Auckland.
The soldier was taken to hospital by ambulance in a stable condition.
The Defence Force said a full investigation into the accident has been launched.
The solider is not a member of the special operations forces, and the training activity is not part of the US-New Zealand training exercise being held in the area.
The training activity has been suspended.
Lance Corporal Nicholas Kahotea died earlier this month in a training exercise at the same facility.
