Fii's opposition Sodelpa Party has expressed concern at a budget realignment which has boosted the allocation for miscellaneous services.
The party leader Sitiveni Rabuka has described the decision as part of a power trip of the economy minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum who tabled the budget at the end of last month.
Mr Rabuka says the allocation has been increased by 500 percent and now accounts for about a seventh of the entire budget.
He points out that the minister has in this way extended his control over the running of government because he could have shared the allocation among several ministries as had been practice.
Mr Rabuka says Mr Sayed-Khaiyum now controls about a quarter of the budget.
The allocation for miscellaneous services is about four times the size of the budget of Mr Sayed-Khaiyum's finance ministry and attorney general's office.
