Guns, drugs, cash and stolen property have been recovered after police raided a number of gang-affiliated properties in West Auckland this week.

On Thursday, police found "several items of interest", including restricted and banned weapons, MDMA and methamphetamine, at a West Harbour address associated with the Head Hunters gang.

A 44-year-old woman was charged with unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition, while a 20-year-old man was charged with that as well as possession of class B drugs for supply.

On Friday, further searches were carried out in Ranui, Massey and Te Atatu.

At the property in Ranui, they found a loaded semi-automatic rifle, ammunition and methamphetamine. A 27-year-old with gang affiliations has been charged with possession of a firearm, ammunition, and methamphetamine.

In Massey, police found a loaded sawn off shotgun, ammunition, methamphetamine, cash and stolen property. A 50-year-old Mongrel Mob prospect has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and drug possession charges.

And at the address in Te Atatu, police found methamphetamine. A 33-year-old man has been charged with possession of the drug.

"These warrants are a further example of the ongoing work being carried out by Operation Cobalt teams across Tāmaki Makaurau," Acting Detective Inspector Tim Williams said.

"Police are continuing to target and disrupt illegal activity being carried out and we have zero tolerance for this type of offending."

He said further arrests and charges were likely.
