An accident on high ropes has cost an adventure course near Rotorua $86,000 after a woman was seriously injured when she fell three metres.
The woman on a team-building exercise and was being lowered by her colleagues at the time.
Tui Ridge Park has been ordered to pay $40,000 in reparation and a $46,000 fine for inadequate supervision.
Worksafe chief inspector Keith Stewart said the accident happened after the woman had completed a crossing.
He said there were some people in overall supervision but the company's instructors did not meet the standards or experience necessary for the role.
He said the woman suffered severe injuries the impact of which she is still living with.
