Injured All Black Dan Carter says he is recovering well from surgery but finds it hard to sit on the sidelines and the weekends are tough.
Carter was forced out of the Rugby World Cup three weeks ago after he injured his groin during training a day before he was to captain the side in a pool match against Canada.
The 29-year-old said on Thursday he is recovering well from surgery he underwent in Melbourne.
Carter says his frustration at not being able to play in Sunday's final against France is not too bad during the week, as he can still be involved with the team and give feedback.
Howevr, he says weekends and watching the games are tough.
