Archaeologists in Egypt have discovered a giant granite head representing the pharaoh revealed by recent DNA tests to be Tutankhamun's grandfather.

The BBC reports the head of Amenhotep the Third was found at a temple in Luxor.

It's 2.5 metres high and still has traces of red paint.

Egypt's head of antiquities has described it as a masterpiece.
