Kenny Lowe takes over at Perth Glory

12:04 pm on 21 December 2013

Kenny Lowe has been named as Perth Glory's interim football coach following Tuesday's ugly sacking of Alistair Edwards.

Lowe, who was an assistant at the A-League club from 2007 to 2011, has been appointed coach until the end of the season, but says he wants the job full-time.

Edwards was given his marching orders following a player revolt led by skipper Jacob Burns.

A host of players had become unhappy about a perceived nepotism towards Edwards' two sons Ryan and Cameron.

Ryan and Cameron are still at the club and could feature in Sunday's home clash with Adelaide United at nib Stadium.

Edwards is set to launch legal action against Perth after being sacked just nine months into a three-year deal.

The former Glory star doesn't want to comment about his ugly axing, and he also wants his sons to distance themselves from the issue and instead focus on their football.
