Sri Lanka have humbled South Africa 4-1 in their one day international cricket series after a one-sided final match in Colombo.

The home side wrapped up the series with a victory by 128 runs in game five, making it 13 losses for South Africa in their last 15 games on Sri Lankan soil.

It was the worst one-day series performance by the Proteas since losing to England 4-0 in 2008.

Sri Lanka scored 307 for four with Tillakaratne Dilshan scoring 99, Lahiru Thirimanne 68, and Kumar Sangakkara an unbeaten 75.

South Africa were then dismissed for 179 in the 44th over.

The teams meet in the first of three Twenty20 internationals in Colombo on Friday.
