A large semi-trailer truck has rolled on State Highway Two near Matamau, just north of Dannervirke.
Police said it blocked the road, but a diversion may be put in place for smaller vehicles.
They said large vehicles were unlikely to be able to use any diversion, and the road may be blocked for several hours because heavy-lift vehicles were needed to move the truck.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
