Community Trust South announced the funding today to ensure the project will go ahead.
Two days ago, it was announced that the project will get a $19.5m loan from the government's Provincial Growth Fund.
Community Trust South deputy chair Lindsay Wright said rejuvenating Invercargill's CBD was integral to attracting and retaining people in the city and wider Southland region.
