Police are appealing for witnesses after a tourist was pulled over and punched in the face on the West Coast.
Police said the tourist was driving on Main South Road, near the Australasian Hotel in Greymouth, just before midday when a man signalled him to stop.
They said the man, described as between 35 and 45-years-old with dark skin and a round face, went up to the tourist's window, removed the car keys and punched him in the face.
Police said they would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault.
They said anyone who had concerns about driver behaviour should not take matters into their own hands, but contact the police.
