Police have arrested two men accused of kidnapping a woman and stealing her car in South Auckland this morning.
Manukau Crime Squad Senior Sergeant Dave Paea said they responded to a possible kidnapping shortly before 7am in Clendon Park.
"Police attended the scene and found the victim, who told us that she had been kidnapped, and that her kidnappers had also stolen her vehicle and were in possession of a firearm."
Police officers saw the vehicle on Kerrs Road in Papatoetoe, and the Eagle helicopter began tracking it.
"The vehicle was not pursued but did begin to be driven dangerously," Paea said.
"It crashed into several vehicles and eventually came to a stop on Hillside Road in Papatoetoe, near the intersection with Pah Road."
He said no one was injured, and the two men were taken into custody.
"A firearm was not found inside the vehicle, and police are considering charges."
