$20m fund to encourage innovation in Maori health

20:32 pm on 7 September 2009

The Government is to make $20 million available for Maori health groups with "innovative" ideas over the next four years.

Associate Health Minister Tariana Turia says many Maori providers have adapted services beyond what they are paid to do and the fund will help them to develop those services or new ones.

The fund was launched at Parliament on Monday.

Maori providers have until 16 October to submit expressions of interest.
