Police have named the man found in a Waikato river this week, sparking a homicide investigation, as 40-year-old Abdul Kareem of Mangere.

Officers want to hear from anyone who used the boat ramp to the Whangamarino River on Island Block Road on Tuesday.
They also want to speak to those who were near the road or Island Block Road Bridge from midday to five in the evening the same day.
Kareem was found by a member of the public on Tuesday afternoon.
