A man has been injured in a duck hunting accident in Southland.

Police and ambulance officers were called to a rural property in the western districts this morning.
The 46-year-old man had a shotgun wound to his leg, but it was not life-threatening. He has been taken to Invercargill Hospital by helicopter.
Police are investigating.
