The Daily Post reports a ship arrived at Aniwa on Tuesday carrying 900 bags of rice and 2000 cartons of water.

It also brought diesel and a battery for a desalination machine.

Officers from the Department of Water are expected to travel to Aniwa soon to ensure the machine is working.

Meanwhile, drought in the north of Efate has prompted the trucking of water from Takara to Tanoliu.
