Five people have been treated following a traffic incident in Big Bay, Marlborough Sounds last night.
A helicopter was called to the incident, with one person was left with critical injuries.
The other people involved suffered moderate and minor injuries.
A person was also critically injured after two cars collided, trapping an occupant, in Taupo about 11.35pm.
A helicopter flew the injured person to Rotorua Hospital.
