The Rainmaker Hotel, once an iconic landmark in American Samoa, has turned into an eyesore and the Governor Lolo Moliga wants to get rid of what remains of the now dilapidated building.
The hotel in Pago Pago was last used in 2001 and according to the Governor's Office the governor is recommending that it be demolished, based on an engineering review that the structure is not sound.
The Office says it's possible that Public Works may be deployed to tear down the 200 room hotel but the preference is to put the job out to bid when funds are identified.
The government does not have any plans for the site beyond tearing down the building that's become a blot on the landscape.
