The premier of Niue, Toke Talagi, continues to rest at his home in Auckland after being medivacced off the island nine days ago.

Niue's chief medical officer, Dr Eddie Akau'ola wanted the premier, who has been unwell for some time, to be properly assessed by specialists at Auckland City Hospital.

The Niue government said the premier left the hospital after a week and was continuing to recover at his Auckland home.
