Cordons block roads in South Taranaki as police attend 'pre-planned operation'

Police have put in cordons in place in South Taranaki while they attend what is being described as a "pre-planned operation".

They say the cordons blocking roads in Normanby, about 6 kilometres north of Hāwera have been put in place as a precaution.

A member of the public said there were more than 20 armed police in attendance and more racing to the scene.
