Christchurch police have seized property worth more than $2.5 million as part of an investigation into the supply of cannabis and money laundering.
The police says they also seized 200 cannabis plants, and a military style semi-automatic rifle.
A 48-year-old man has been charged with importing a Class A controlled drug, cultivating cannabis and selling cannabis and appeared in the Christchurch District Court this afternoon.
Four other people will appear in court next week on a range of charges, they are aged 23 to 46 years.
The police say the seized property includes residential and commercial properties, vehicles, jet-skis, a caravan, cash and bank accounts.
