Live stock thefts cost farmers millions every year

Last Friday a North Canterbury farmer woke up to find that 500 of her precious lambs had been stolen.

An investigation is still ongoing to try and discover what happened.

While this seems to be a particularly extreme case, Federated Farmers estimates that around $120 million worth of livestock is stolen from rural properties each year.

Federated Farmers board member and rural policing spokesperson Richard MacIntyre talks to Jesse about the ongoing issue of stock being stolen on large scale.
