A message posted on social media by someone living in Marewa shows a leaflet from the SPCA warning people several cats have died after ingesting the product.
It lists symptoms of a poisoned cat, which include it being dehydrated, sluggish and having seizures.
The note says anyone caught wilfully ill-treating an animal can be sentenced to prison, fined up to $10,000 dollars, or both.
