A man has been arrested after threatening a Work and Income staff member in the Christchurch suburb of New Brighton.
Hunter Mangu Warren Montgomery was arrested yesterday after threatening the staff member in the Work and Income office on Beresford Street.
A police spokesperson said he would appear in the Christchurch District Court this morning charged with threatening behaviour and possession of an offensive weapon.
The spokesperson said the police wished to reassure the public they were taking threats seriously, and all would be dealt with firmly and appropriately.
