Police want to speak with two family members after a Taupo boy was shot in the face with a pellet from an air rifle.
Police say the 12-year-old was shot in or near his home in Wairakei. It is believed the pellet went through his face.
He was in a stable condition in Rotorua hospital on Thursday.
A police search of the family home recovered an air rifle and pellets.
Police say they will speak with two members of the boy's family on Friday.
