A person has died following a house fire in the Auckland suburb of New Lynn this morning, police say.
Emergency services were called to the Kohekohe Street address around 7am.
Police and Fire and Emergency NZ are working together to determine the circumstances of the fire.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand says it received multiple 111 calls just before 7am about the two-storey home being ablaze.
It said three fire trucks responded, however, two more were sent after firefighters saw the scale of the fire.
Crew with breathing apparatus entered the house.
Fire and Emergency said the bottom floor was well involved in flames.
A spokesperson said the fire has since been dampened down, with some of the team still working to put it out fully.
