Samsung has unveiled a smartwatch at a consumer electronics fair in Berlin.
It's seen as the next big thing in consumer electronics and the South Korean company has beaten Microsoft, Apple and Google to unveil the Glaxy Gear.
The digital wristwatch can make phone calls, send messages and take photos, for a price of $US300, twice the price of Sony's smartwatch.
It features a 1.6 inch LED display, a 1.9 megapixel camera, a speaker and microphone, and has four gigabytes of internal storage and a non-removable battery.
The watch will go on sale later this month. Samsung says it will be seen as a companion device to smartphones because it enhances qualities of the handset devices.
