A new alliance has emerged in the wool industry.
The farmer owned sales and marketing company, Wools of New Zealand, has signed a service agreement with the biggest exporter, New Zealand Wool Services International, which also runs wool scouring operations.
The agreement means Wool Services will take care of the logistics involved in moving wool from the farms, to the scours and then to market.
Wools of New Zealand chief executive Ross Townshend says the agreement will give farmers supplying wool access to selling options, which include a weekly schedule, monthly plans and more brand contracts.
