Ukrainian families in Nelson are holding a bake sale to raise funds for Ohmatdyt, the country's biggest children's hospital in Kyiv.
The families are being supported by their Russian and Belarussian friends, who will also join the bake sale at the Nelson Market this morning.
Ukrainian Kiwi woman Nataliya Langridge, who lives in Motueka, set up a Give-a-little page in support of the Ohmatdyt Hospital where staff have been working around the clock to help the injured since the start of the Russian invasion on 24 February.
She has been following the humanitarian tragedy in Ukraine, where her parents, family and friends live, and said there were many people who needed immediate help.
On Friday, close to $5000 had been donated.
The offerings at the market will include traditional pies, honey cakes, sultana cakes and apple pies.
