US police have declared the reports of a shooting at Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne’s home in Miami a hoax, Reuters report.
Earlier today, Miami Beach police said that they had received a call from a person stating that they had shot four people at the house and needed assistance.
Police surrounded the nine-bedroom home valued at $US9.2 million (NZ$13m) and TV images showed a SWAT truck at the scene. Wayne was not home during the incident.
Miami Beach police tweeted "unfortunately this appears to be a "swatting" call," referring to a trend of police receiving false emergency calls, sometimes targeting celebrities. Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus have all previously had false calls to their homes.
