Five charged over deaths of uncle and nephew

Five men have been charged over the deaths of an uncle and nephew found dead in the Mamaku Forest in Bay of Plenty.

Raymond and James Fleet were reported missing in August and their bodies were found a week later, sparking a homicide investigation.

Police said the arrested men were facing numerous charges including murder, manslaughter and accessory after the fact to murder, as well as drugs charges.

Four of the men - aged 34, 29, 26 and 21 - were expected to appear in the Rotorua District Court tomorrow.

The fifth man, aged 26, will appear in the Whakatāne District Court.
