Boko Haram militants have shot dead 18 women at a funeral in Nigeria's northeast.
Local officials say the fighters rampaged through the village of Kuda, set houses on fire and shot people at random.
A resident, Moses Kwagh, says the villagers have counted 18 women's bodies, but some are still missing.
A police source has confirmed the attack but says the death toll is not yet clear.
Kuda is close to the Sambisa Forest, a vast colonial-era game reserve where Boko Haram militants hide in secluded camps to avoid the Nigerian military.
The group is opposed to Western education and lifestyles, and has frequently attacked schools.
