Police are investigating an incident during which a firearm was discharged at a house from outside the property in the early hours.

Police were called to the scene in Royal View Road in the west Auckland suburb of Te Atatū, just before 12.30am.
A spokesperson said in a statement that early signs indicated that a gun was fired at a house from beyond the property.
Several adults were inside the house at the time, however, no one was injured.
Scene guards remained at the property overnight and a scene examination is being carried out today.
Police would like to hear from anyone who has information about the incident.

There will be more police staff working in the area while staff make more inquiries.
