The Wallabies suffered their worst-ever Bledisloe Cup defeat in Sydney last Saturday but with the trophy secured New Zealand are set to make changes to their line-up.

The All Blacks won't take their foot off the throat of the Wallabies until they have the Tri-Nations silverware also in their keeping, with Argentina another competitor.

No.8 Ardie Savea, who missed the ANZ Stadium romp following the birth of his son, is set to return but prop Joe Moodie is still being troubled by concussion symptoms and unlikely to be available.

Assistant coach John Plumtree says they wanted to give other players in their squad a run and keep the team fresh.

He says the same-day travel to Brisbane from Sydney will also provide a unique challenge.

Despite the margin of the scoreline Plumtree expects the Wallabies to perform better at Suncorp Stadium.

In six clashes there since 2006 the home side has won two and drawn one.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that 35-year-old Williams is about to hang up his boots, however he does intend to get back into the boxing ring this summer.

Williams played the latter part of the NRL season with the Sydney Roosters.

Roglic back on top

Primoz Roglic reclaimed the Vuelta a Espana overall lead when he won the 13th stage, a 33.7-km individual time trial.

The Slovenian looked nothing like the rider who lost the Tour de France yellow jersey on the final time trial, crushing the pedals in the last ascent to clock 46 minutes, 39 seconds and beat American Will Barta by just one second.

Ecuador's Richard Carapaz, who started the day with the red jersey, limited the damage to finish seventh, 49 seconds off the pace. He dropped to second overall, 39 seconds behind defending champion Roglic of Jumbo-Visma.

New Zealander George Bennett, Roglic's team-mate, remains 11th overall.

Tonight's 14th stage is the first of three hilly rides before the top contenders go all in on the 17th stage, which finishes at top of the Alto de la Covatilla on Saturday.

Tendulkar wants helmets to be worn all the time

Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar has asked the governing International Cricket Council to make it mandatory for all batsmen to wear helmets irrespective of whether facing a pacer or a spinner.

During a recent Indian Premier League match in Dubai, Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Vijay Shankar was knocked down after being hit in the helmet by a full-blooded throw from Kings XI Punjab fielder Nicholas Pooran.

"The game has become faster but is it getting safer?" Tendulkar said on Tuesday, reacting to the video of the incident on Twitter.

"Be it a spinner or pacer, wearing a HELMET should be MANDATORY for batsmen at professional levels.

"Request @ICC to take this up on priority," Tendulkar added, tagging all the cricket boards.

Former Australia batsman Phil Hughes died in 2014, two days after being hit in the neck by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield game in Sydney.

Watson retires

Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has retired from all forms of cricket, drawing the curtain on an injury-plagued career which he managed to extend by reinventing himself as a journeyman Twenty20 specialist.

Watson ended his test career in 2015 and quit international cricket the next year, surrendering in his battle against a litany of injuries that bedevilled his career.

He quit Big Bash League last year but played this year's Indian Premier League where his team Chennai Super Kings failed to make the playoff.

For an injury-prone player, Watson played 59 tests, 190 one-dayers and 58 Twenty20 matches in his 14 years in international cricket.

The brevity of 20-overs cricket suited the all-rounder who played franchise cricket in Australia, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and West Indies.
