Claim Vanuatu pressured to have income tax

People in Vanuatu could be forced to pay income tax for the first time as part of a government drive to boost its coffers.

The government says the proposal is part of a wider tax review looking at new ways to pay for vital public services.

But the opposition says it's under global pressure to generate more income.
